Online Learning in the Time of Covid-19

Online Learning in the Time of Covid-19

The last few months living through the Covid-19 crisis have made vividly clear how important digitalization and technology have become in the education sector, as the latter continues to be heavily impacted by lockdowns and assorted restrictions. For teachers and students at all levels, persistence and structure have been almost entirely dependent on the equipment and infrastructure available through educational institutions and at home. Thanks to existing learning platforms, online courses and digital teaching material, many students have been able to continue their classes remotely (otherwise impossible in the face of school closures). The launch of the CELL website comes at a critical time in which online resources such as our teaching case studies are incredibly useful, offering authentic, valuable intercultural learning experiences and guidance to work through them. Now more than ever before, school leaders are faced with extreme challenges; solutions might be found not only locally but across interconnected global networks such as the CELL.
