We have a different dynamic at our school: students have to take what they are offered because it is valuable… And we don’t start off saying: adolescents aren’t interested in anything. First we consider how interesting what we’re offering is.
Because maybe the fact that they don’t take an interest is a good symptom. In my experience, I’ve been in classrooms and I’ve thought, Thank goodness the students are “out to lunch” and not listening to this terrible class.
